How to use this target
Choose strict lossless when exact decoded image pixels matter more than achieving an aggressive byte target. The tool verifies pixel equality after encoding. It starts with PNG output, unchanged dimensions and a 2,000,000-byte ceiling.
- Upload a supported 8-bit image without an embedded color profile. Lossless here refers to decoded pixels, not byte-for-byte preservation of the original file.
- Keep PNG or WebP output and strict lossless mode. Change the size ceiling if needed; the tool will fail rather than resize or silently use lossy encoding.
- Inspect the lossless validation result and download. The output may be larger than a lossy JPEG source even when every decoded pixel is preserved.
What to check before uploading
Metadata may be removed. Unsupported color spaces, higher bit depths and embedded profiles are rejected instead of claiming an exact match. Lossless processing cannot always make a file smaller, and it cannot satisfy dimensions that require resizing.
Common questions
Can I make every image smaller without quality loss?
No. Already-compressed images may have little redundancy left. A PNG containing all decoded JPEG pixels can be larger than the original JPEG.
Does lossless retain metadata?
The guarantee covers supported decoded image pixels and dimensions. It does not promise retention of EXIF, location tags, comments or every original container byte.
