Small files. Clear evidence.
Choose a maximum byte size or a sourced destination rule. SizeMyFile searches encoder settings and validates the resulting file before enabling download.
Open-source foundations
Next.js and React power the interface. Rust compiled to WebAssembly handles images and PDFs in the browser; a stateless Rust edge service is the next fallback. Browser Tesseract/WASM reads error screenshots. FastAPI and PostgreSQL coordinate durable jobs. Pillow, pikepdf/QPDF, Tesseract, LibreOffice and FFmpeg process files. SeaweedFS stores temporary artifacts. Kubernetes runs the local system and Prometheus exposes operational measurements.
What a pass means
The report lists the exact checks that passed: byte size, detected format, dimensions, preserved pages and extracted text, or media duration. It does not guarantee that a third party will accept your application or that every visual detail is unchanged. Review the output before using it.
Safe limits
Image processing supports up to 36 megapixels. PDFs are limited to 100 pages, with OCR for scans up to 20 pages. Media is limited to ten minutes. Signed PDFs, forms, active content, animated images and externally linked office documents require a separately exported safe copy.
About our guides
Our guides are maintained by the SizeMyFile product team and explain the implemented tool behavior, file-size arithmetic and practical output checks. They are not official portal instructions or guarantees of acceptance. Guides show their update date; changes should be checked against the actual product before publication.
